Gruyère, the medival cheese capital of Switzerland

Get to know everything about Swiss cheese and see that same pastoral Switzerland! Gruyère has an amazing concentration of medieval architecture. With that, there is no feeling of a lifeless museum, on the contrary, you’ll find yourself in a real ancient Switzerland with it’s ringing cow bells, green meadows and.. the smell of aromatic cheese around! What to expect: • Nice walk through the medieval town and around the 13th century Gruyere Castle with charming views, which you may visit by wish. • Gruyère cheese factory visit. Here you will get to know how the process of producing the famous Gruyère cheese is look like and will taste 3 pieces of different varieties of local cheese. • Giger's Bar, designed by the famous designer Hans Giger, the creator of the images for the movie “Aliens”. • Lunch (optional). For a total immersion in this Swiss cheese paradise, I'll book a table in one of the local restaurants to let you try the famous fondue. By request, we can add in the plan the Cailler Chocolate Factory visit which is located few kilometres from Gruyeres.
